"And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him." Br. Samuel Babu, Believers Brethren Assembly, (BBA), Majlis - Bahrain For the last few days, we have been relentlessly praying for Br. Samuel Babu, who suffered Cardiac Problems and was admitted in Salmaniya Medical Complex, Bahrain. It was well pleasing for our Lord to call HIS child to the Eternal Home, where there is no pain, no sorrow, no tears, no sickness and no death. He went to be with the LORD around 10:30 PM Bahrain Time today (Friday 23rd 2015). Let us uphold the grieving family members to the Throne of Grace. May the Lord bestow upon them heavenly Grace, Peace and strength and console them with the word of God.

BE A DISCIPLE MAKER

P.D James , Trivandrum

Christ has left every believer with one simple command: “make disciples” Matthew 28: 19-20. We need to make disciples for Christ. Have you been praying for such an opportunity? Have you set aside time in your schedule to make disciples for Christ? When was the last time you gave a quality presentation of the gospel to a lost neighbor or work associate? Have you attempted to follow up with the one that you led to Christ or that new believer Christ has put in your path? That is what disciple making is all about.

Christ not only gave us the command to go out and make disciples, He also demonstrated the method how to do it. Christ spent three years with the twelve, living with them, talking to them, praying for them, and teaching them day after day, month after month, year after year. Mature disciple are not made overnight. We must be committed to making disciples as Christ himself was committed to it. He listened to their questions; He met their needs; and He fellowshipped with them daily. He went to their homes and met them at their level. We need to do likewise as best we can. Christ sacrificed Himself for those men along the way. He knelt down on His knees and washed their feet. Then Christ provided the ultimate sacrifice of all on the cross.

Disciple making needs to start with your immediate family, and then reach out from your own home to those in your neighborhood, your area of employment, and your community at large. Parents please note: if your children do not see you working at making disciples outside of your family, they won’t either; and you will thus fail to make your children complete Disciples of Christ. True Disciples of Christ will disciple others.

Make no mistake about it. Disciple making is hard. It starts and ends with one’s own discipline in daily Bible meditation, prayer, and keeping a focus on God, spiritual goals, and eternal rewards. Discipleship includes winning lost souls by word and deed; and it involves training new believers in “all” that the Bible teaches, while continuing one’s own spiritual growth. Each time you teach a lesson in discipleship Bible study, it will entrench you deeper in your knowledge of His truth. Successful disciple making requires establishing and maintaining personal relationships, where accountability that personal discipleship demands, such as memory verse sharing, is beneficial for spiritual development. Establishing and maintaining a system of accountability is essential to successful discipleship.
