FOOT PRINTS & MISSION FIELDS
Tremors around us….
…..Triumph is at hand
Bro. M. K. Sunny
Dear loving and respected Co-Saints in the Lord,
Warm greetings to you all in the matchless name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We thank you for your encouragement in the past both by prayer and material support. We appreciate your burden in the Lord to strengthen the work of God in India. We hope that you all are doing fine. We pray for you.
It was in May 12th, 1989 that I landed in the southernmost territory of India called Great Nicobar Island as Lord gave me the burden to reach the unreached of the remotest part of India with the gospel. Through many hard toils in that place, the Lord honored our work and we could raise two Assembly Testimonies by 1996 with establishments. There was a school too in that Island as a tool to reach the society with the gospel. The Lord burdened my heart to come to Andaman Island for the gospel work entrusting my co-worker Bro. Selvakumar with the established work.
Unfortunately, our entire establishment was washed away by the massive Tsunami on 26th Dec '04. The Lord showed grace upon us that none of our believers lost their lives though they lost all their properties. An Assembly hall has been constructed at Great Nicobar by the generous gifts sent to us by the Saints. The Lord strengthened me to work among the Tsunami victims and as the result a new Assembly testimony could start in the place called Bathu Basti named Brethren Chapel. We gather in a rented room which was not spacious for us to gather comfortably.
We were praying for a place of our own and we got a piece of land and the Construction work started on 10th July '08. The total cost estimated for the whole building (ground floor & first floor) is Rs. 2,747,484.00 and we have been provided with Rs. 661,799.00 till this date by His Saints. We do not have any ability to continue the work and are totally trusting in the Lord and appealing to the loving Brethren to pray and support us.
The Assembly building work resumed again as the Lord provided some more fellowship. The first floor roof slab work is going-on now and the Lord has graciously provided us with good workers to do the work now. Praise God for His leading. We still need a huge amount to complete the work. We keep this in prayer. We covet your active prayer also.
One of our sisters in Campbell Bay Assembly had seen a new born baby abandoned at seashore with bleeding on his neck and this dear sister (a poor widow) took this child and took care of the child. He was healed and now he is a very active 3 year old child. Last week she brought this child to Bathu Basti Assembly. We all praised God for saving a child through our dear sister. She is a poor lady; still she has the compassion in her mind towards this abandoned child. Please pray for this dear sister and for this child Please pray for Children’s’ Bible Clubs. The children are very active. There are indirect oppositions when the fanatics stop the grown up children. But still children gather for the CBCs. Pongichang CBC has recently started and we conduct this in the house of Mr. Selvam. He belongs to the Bahai religion. We constantly convey the gospel to him. We have CBC at Tsunami shelters at Bambooflat and Namunagar. Also the CBC at Brich Gunj, Bednabad, Brookshabad and Bathu Basti are going on smoothly. The Lord is enabling us to run this ministry till this date. We need financial assistance to go ahead with this ministry. We sacrificially do our best and pray that some brethren may be burdened to uphold this ministry for the glory of God. Let God allow us to continue this ministry among these non-Christian children so that they may come to know Christ Jesus as their personal Saviour.
The climate change made many of our believers to fall ill. The Lord has cured them. Thank God for his help. The Lord has been so good to me and my family. My wife Shiny, Sons -Paul Kurian and Thomas Cherian keep well. Although my wife does not have good health, the Lord shows mercy on us as many Saints in the Lord are praying for her. Our children finished their mid-term examination and are waiting for their results.
This month caused us to remember the great Tsunami attack on these beautiful Islands in the year 2004. In an hour all our establishments were washed away. We were in great terror of continuous tremors of earthquake. Thousands of dead bodies lying on the sea shore and some floating in the roaring waves. Many in the hospital were affected physically, mentally and materially. Thank God that now everything is calm and people have come back to normal mentally. But still in Tsunami shelters people are going through practical crises. Our Lord burdened me to work among these Tsunami victims and till this date the work is carrying-on by the grace of God. It is a tough job and many times we are tired to pull-on the work. We are thankful to God for His abundant grace upon us to see fruits out of our sacrificial work so that yet another Assembly is established at Bathubasti called Brethren Chapel.
This time at the close of this year we remember all the dear brothers, sisters and the Assemblies who stood with us both by prayers and practical support. We acknowledge every one of your efforts and wish to thank you once again. May the Lord richly bless you and use you again for His glory.
We request your active prayers for the following matters.
1) Pray for the congregation of Brethren Chapel, Bathu Basti. Almost all believers are new converts.
2) Pray for the Children Bible Clubs in six places and for its material support to continue the centres.
3) Pray for Bro. Lawrence Dhanwar and Bro. Depak Kumar who join with me in the ministry.
4) Pray for my wife's health and children's education.
5) Pray for early completion of the Assembly building.
6) Pray for the Assembly at Great Nicobar Island and the co-workers Bro.Selvakumar and Bro. P. Phinehas. This Assembly is the fruit of my pioneer work in that area.
7) Pray for the Vacation Bible School we plan to conduct on almost all the main Islands in the summer and for its material support.
We are happy to let you know that all the regular activities of the Assembly are going-on smoothly. Worship meeting, Sunday school, Youth Fellowship, Sister's Fellowship, Bible Study, Prayer meetings, Cottage meeting and Children Bible Clubs in six places with 250 children attending are the regular activities in a week.
Thanks for your prayers.
With much regards and prayers,
In His service,
