"And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him." Br. Samuel Babu, Believers Brethren Assembly, (BBA), Majlis - Bahrain For the last few days, we have been relentlessly praying for Br. Samuel Babu, who suffered Cardiac Problems and was admitted in Salmaniya Medical Complex, Bahrain. It was well pleasing for our Lord to call HIS child to the Eternal Home, where there is no pain, no sorrow, no tears, no sickness and no death. He went to be with the LORD around 10:30 PM Bahrain Time today (Friday 23rd 2015). Let us uphold the grieving family members to the Throne of Grace. May the Lord bestow upon them heavenly Grace, Peace and strength and console them with the word of God.

Jobin John Mathew, U.A.E

There was a woman who was on her deathbed. And as she was in the final stages of her life, she gave instructions on how her funeral should be conducted. As she did not believe in God, and did not believe in the resurrection, she said that when she dies, should be buried under a tree, and her relatives are to properly cement her grave so that under no circumstance it should ever be opened. This was obeyed and carried out when the woman finally died. But gradually, a fruit fell from the tree near her tomb and the seeds from the fruit began to germinate near her grave. As a result of which, it slowly began to grow and take root, and since there was less place, it slowly started to crack the tomb, and thus, within a short period of months, the small plant grew into a huge tree and also completely cracked open the tomb, which was to remain closed forever. It was possible for a small seed to open a cemented tomb. And it was impossible for a cemented tomb to remain closed.

When we look into the world, we see that Hitler has passed away, Saddam has passed away, Gandhi has passed away, even Jesus has passed away and each of them have a tomb of their own, in which they were buried. But the tomb of Jesus is different. Do you know why? Not because it attracts many people. Not because Jesus was buried there. Not because the tomb itself is anything special. It is special only because the tomb of Jesus is empty. This is my message. Let me share with you three points concerning the tomb of Jesus Christ – the empty tomb.

1) The Empty Tomb, Stays Empty, But Shares Volumes

The Bible is the book written by God. When we read 2 Tim: 3:16, it says, 'All Scripture is God-breathed.' The Bible begins by talking about the creation of the world and this can be seen in the first book of the Bible, the book of Genesis. He created the heavens and the earth by the very words of his mouth (Genesis 1:1). He fashioned the planets according to his liking and suspended them in an invisible web according to his pleasing. The Bible also says that this God loves you so much. Jeremiah: 31:3 says, 'I have loved you with an everlasting love'. It was this God, who came into the world in the form of Jesus Christ and lived among us. He walked like us, talked like us, but was without sin. He died on the cross, and was placed in a tomb, but he arose on the third day, and it is this tomb, the empty tomb, that stays empty, but shares volumes. It speaks about a God who is above all gods. It speaks about his supremacy and signifies to us the fact that nothing happens in this world without his knowledge. The empty tomb of Jesus speaks volumes about the fact that everything in this world was Preordained, Predetermined and Pre-discussed. But why did Jesus come into the world? Why did he have to die? Why did he rise again? This brings me to the second significance of the empty tomb.

2) The Empty Tomb, Stays Empty, But Shows Victory

Today when we read the papers, we can see that mankind is spending their energy, time and finance in trying to find any way by which it would be possible to lengthen human life. Doctors are trying their best to reduce age and extend life. Nobody wants to become old and nobody wants to die. When we read the Bible, Romans: 3:23 says that, 'all are sinners and have come short of the glory of God'. What does this mean? All who are born into the world are sinners. What is sin? Sin is anything that you think, anything that you say and anything that you do against the will of God. The Bible clearly states that all are sinners in the sight of God. Not only that, Romans: 6:23 goes on to say that 'the wages of sin is death', and this means that since mankind is born in sin and are sinners, the punishment for their sin is death – the eternal damnation, eternal suffering and eternal separation from God. It is for this reason that Jesus Christ came into the world. Since he loved mankind so much he was willing to take the place of man on the cross of Calvary. The punishment of our sin and transgression fell upon him and he paid the price for the sin of the whole of humanity on the cross of Calvary when he died. However the significance is that – The empty tomb, stays empty, but shows victory. Do you know why? Jesus did not remain dead. He arose again on the third day in all glory and victory. Death has no control over him. When we die we cannot rise again. But he can, because he is God. And the tomb shows victory because he defeated death. 1Corinthians 15:55 says, 'Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting'? Jesus did this because of the love that he has for you and me. We can also have this victory. It is available for every person who is willing to:

    * Accept that he is a sinner, ask His forgiveness

    * Believe that God died on the cross, and bled for his sins

    * and Commit his life to him, ask him to change his life

The Empty tomb is a victorious sign for those who receive the salvation of Christ because death has no control over them, just as it had no control over Jesus Christ.

3) The Empty Tomb, Stays Empty, But Speaks of Validity

In the last book of the Bible, the book of Revelation 22:7, Jesus says, 'Behold, I am coming soon.' He has promised us that he is coming again. Why is he coming again? To receive us unto himself and to take us to be with him in heaven, the place that he has prepared for us, and where we will live with him forever and forever. The empty tomb, stays empty, but speaks of Validity. God has made a promise and he will indeed fulfill that promise. Our life here is like a journey and every person has begun their journey. Do you want to be a part of this journey?

Once upon a time, a young person was traveling on a train. The train master came to collect the tickets. The young person soon found out that his ticket was missing. He began to search for the ticket. The train master noticed that the young man looked very worried. The young man confessed that he had lost his ticket and began to weep. The train master told him that he believed that the young man had bought the ticket and therefore it was ok even if he did not show the ticket. However the young man still continued to cry. The train master asked why he was still crying even though he told him that there was no need for him to show the ticket. The young man said that he was not worried about losing the ticket but was worried about the fact that he could not remember the destination where he was going.

There are many people like this today. They have started the journey of life but they do not know where they are going. If you have not accepted Christ, your journey will end in hell. If you have accepted the invitation of Christ and have responded to it then you will surely go to heaven. Look at the empty tomb and embrace the truths that it proclaims even today,

  * The empty tomb, stays empty, but shares volumes

  * The empty tomb, stays empty, but shows victory

  * The empty tomb, stays empty, but speaks of validity.
